We were appointed to launch international teleco, Parrot’s, latest gaming technology – the AR.Drone through public experience events in both Sydney and Melbourne. Our challenge was to produce two 3 day events in high traffic areas in both cities with very short timelines to strategise, manage and coordinate. Our objective was to attract as much public interest and have as many people possible experience ‘flying’ the AR.Drone.
To create the ’WOW’ factor we chose a unique marquee structure new to Australia. The ‘AR.Drone tent’, as it became known as, was a large inflatable structure that in itself attracted a lot of attention and interest. The signage and lighting that we selected for the ‘tent’ also had the impact of making the marquee stand out during the day and night. This created a sense of talkability and buzz. The ‘tent’ could not be missed in either location – Sydney’s Circular Quay and Melbourne’s Federation square.
Both events achieved our client’s objectives which were to attract significant interest and buzz around the AR.Drone. Our Melbourne event attracted more than 5,500 people over the course of 3 days and Federation Square confirmed that this one of their most successful events.
