More about Hani Taslim

Can you tell me how long you’ve been working at M&C and what your role is?

I’ve been working at M&C for two years. As a finance controller, my role involves overseeing the financial operations of the company in three different countries (Australia, Singapore and Indonesia), including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Furthermore, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to the management team.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

A typical workday for me starts with a cup of coffee in the morning, which helps me to get energised and focused for the day ahead. The first thing I usually do is check my emails and respond to any urgent messages that require my attention. After that, I take some time to plan out my tasks for the day, prioritising the most important ones that need to be completed first.

Once I have a clear plan for the day, I dive into my work, tackling each task one by one. I also make sure to stay in touch with my colleague/Finance Team throughout the day, checking in to discuss any ongoing projects/tasks that need to be completed.

By the end of the workday, I aim to have completed all of my tasks and responded to any additional emails or messages that have come through. I also take a few minutes to reflect on my workday, assessing what went well and what could be improved for the next day. Overall, a typical workday for me is structured, focused and productive.

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

My favourite way to spend a day off is by indulging in some ‘me time’ and relaxing at home. I love to watch movies or dramas and just unwind. But if I’m feeling more social, I enjoy going out and doing some cafe hopping to find a great cup of coffee. It’s also a great way to spend time with my loved ones or friends and catch up on things.

Do you have anything that help you with productivity?

Yes, I have found that two things that really help me with productivity are coffee and getting enough sleep. Coffee is a great pick-me-up that helps me stay focused and energised throughout the day. And getting enough sleep is crucial for me to feel refreshed and ready to tackle tasks each morning. When I combine these, I find that I am able to work more efficiently and effectively, and am better able to stay on top of my responsibilities.
