Melissa brings over 10 years of experience across content, editorial and strategy, having previously worked with M&C before moving into technology and software development. Returning to M&C in 2026, she brings a fresh perspective and a unique blend of creative and technical thinking to the content team, creating everything from blogs, thought leadership and whitepapers to social media and video content.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys reading, gaming and exploring a wide range of creative hobbies, from painting and pottery to printmaking and candle-making.
Can you tell me how long you’ve been working at M&C and what your role is?
I rejoined M&C in mid-August 2026 as part of the content team. I used to work at M&C a few years ago before I transitioned into tech as a software developer. But now I’m back with a fresh perspective and some new tools under my belt.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
It always starts the same way: coffee, emails, and then Wrike to check on my tasks. I’m a strange breed of INFJ where I like knowing there is some structure to my schedule, while also being very happy to disregard that schedule entirely.
On any given day I could be writing a whitepaper, drafting a video script, developing copy for social media creatives, or editing a thought leadership piece. Occasionally, the odd Teams message will pop up for something urgent. Otherwise, I’m just tapping away at my keyboard for as long as my flow state lasts.
What kind of media are you interested in (reading, movies, music, podcasts. Etc). What genre do you like best?
I consume all forms of media. They tickle different parts of my brain so the best genre, for me, depends on the situation.
I read on long commutes or when I want to be completely absorbed in a different world. I’ve lost back-to-back days to a good series. I watch movies and tv when my brain needs a break. I recently found Yellowstone and have been working my way through the Taylor Sheridan universe. Music and podcasts are my best friends when I go for long walks or when I’m doing chores.
What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
Squishing my dog while she side-eyes me.
What are some of your main hobbies?
Anything crafty. Painting, pottery, resin art, candle-making, lino-cutting, printmaking, clay sculpting. Next on my wish list of things to try are glass blowing and taxidermy.
Do you have anything that helps you with productivity?
Honestly, binaural beats have helped, but anything low and steady in the background works. Because I get distracted easily, silencing notifications when I need to buckle down and get something done also helps protect my flow state as much as possible.
Are you playing any games at the moment?
I’m a long-time player of an online MMORPG. Other than that, I’m eagerly anticipating the release of Planet Zoo 2! I tend to enjoy games that are story-driven or design-forward, like Clair Obscur, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Final Fantasy.
